Stephen P McMahon

Stephen P McMahon B Com, CA, F Fin

Since the mid 1980's, Steve has conducted a wide range of complex and high profile investigative and forensic accounting assignments. He has provided forensic accounting evidence in relation to insurance claims in respect of disability income protection, arson, business interruption, stock loss and dispute resolution. He has provided expert witness testimony and advised on the cross examination of witnesses for litigation purposes. He has been involved in accounting records reconstructions, financial data analysis and financial investigation of fraud. He has prepared and rebutted economic loss and damages claims for a wide range of matters.

A Chartered Accountant, he has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of NSW. He is a director of the Commercial Law Association, is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (Finsia formerly Securities Institute of Australia), and has completed Advanced Company Valuations in the SIA Masters Program. He is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.

John J Worth

Since qualifying in 1988, John Worth has worked on a wide range of investigative and forensic accounting assignments including financial and operational audits of complex computer models, reconstruction of accounting records, financial information analysis, computer modelling, and investigation of financial distress and fraud. He has taught computer and business studies at tertiary level and conducted numerous training courses in the use of computers and software.

While studying for a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Newcastle, he was awarded the Australian Society of Accountants medal for excellence in accounting studies. He is an Associate of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants and an Associate of the Institute of Management Consultants.


Kieran J Lynch B Bus ASA

Since the mid 1980's Kieran has provided a range of Financial and Business related services to new business start-ups and existing operations. As part of these business services he has provided forensic and investigative accounting, as well as litigation support including assistance with the discovery process and analysis of discovered material. He has developed into a specialist investigative accountant working closely with in-house Counsel on large litigation disputes, such as the TV Week case which ran over several years.

He has held senior executive positions (accounting, business manager, production director, Company Secretary and several Directorships) in major commercial corporations. He has been involved in a number of litigation proceedings in the NSW Supreme Court, Family Court and District Court of NSW. Whilst acting as an accounting expert witness, he has provided assistance with negotiating commercial resolutions and facilitating settlement between the parties in dispute. Kieran has also provided business assessment and valuations for both Family Court proceedings and general sale and purchase of businesses.

Kieran has extensive experience across a wide range of large commercial and industrial sectors, such as media (publishing, advertising, graphic arts, printing and mailing operations), mining and heavy engineering operations, as well as hotel and travel operations. He also acts as a business adviser to numerous SME's.

Kieran holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology NSW majoring in Accounting and sub-majoring in Distribution Management.


John J Worth

Rob Jones CA, B.Bus, B.Sc., M.Ec.

Robert has been a qualified Chartered Accountant since 1984. His experience includes Audit and information systems management for both large and small professional practices and commercial enterprises. Robert's focus is in financial information analysis and forensic accounting. He has worked with corporate clients in investigations and with government agencies in audit and forensic assignments. Robert has performed significant investigative accounting work for public practice firms and within larger Australian and UK based companies. He has worked with the NSW government in deploying business improvement programs, and for legal practices in information management. He has served on Government consultative boards and with standards development groups.

Since qualifying, Robert has furthered his studies with a degree in Computer Science and postgraduate studies in Economics. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
